We are located at 7326 N Cherryvale Mall Dr Ste F in Rockford. This is a small strip mall located in the north lot of Cherryvale Mall. We are the very last door in the strip mall. You are looking for the door that says "Arthur Murray" on it. Please do not enter the door that says "The Studio" that is a different business.
Tips for success:
-We are a business professional environment. Please come to your interview professionally dressed and groomed. Examples of business professional attire include: tailored suits, dress pants with long sleeve button up shirt and tie, skirt or dress slacks and blouse, dress, etc.
-Do not bring anyone with you to your interview. Even if someone is driving you there, your ride should not be entering the studio with you. Please ask parents, significant others, friends, siblings, etc. to stay at home or wait in the car.
-Do your research. You are currently on our website. It wouldn't be a bad idea to click around here for a few minutes or visit our Facebook page to get an idea of what it is we do. We are an independently owned and operated franchised location of the largest dance organization in the world so there is a lot of information readily available. We don't expect you to know a ton but it certainly doesn't hurt to get at least a vague idea of what we do.
-Smile! We care about your personality more than we care about your experience. What we're looking for are people who will have the ability to connect well with our clientele and make sure they have a great time while learning how to dance.
-Please note, the following are REQUIREMENTS for all staff. If you do not feel as though you can meet these requirements please contact us.
1. Evening availability. We work when others have time for fun. We can only consider applicants that can work at least 3 weekday evenings until 9:30pm with Wednesdays required.
2. Occasional travel. We have occasional training and events outside of the local area. Many are day trips but some do require overnights. These are generally on the weekend.
3. 1 year commitment. Due to the investment we make in training our staff a 1 year commitment is required for all positions that include dance instruction.
4. Good health. All instructor positions are highly aerobic. You will be on the dance floor the majority of the day in the studio and dancing at high intensity at events. All staff members must be in good physical and mental health to be able to maintain their daily schedule.
Currently Open Positions:
New Student Specialist: This is an entry level position with a part-time schedule 12-15 weekday evening hours per week to start. In this position you will be trained to dance and teach basic dance concepts to new students. Additional hours available as your teaching schedule fills. Responsibilities include: Teaching and enrolling sample lessons, teaching front department lessons in a way that is fun and easy, identifying and delivering benefits of dance for each student, encouraging active participation from students in groups, practice sessions and all appropriate events, following up with inactive or un-enrolled students, extending students into bronze, smoothly transitioning students to another teacher as they enter bronze, desk duties as needed, general studio responsibilities (cleaning, phones, email, etc).
Advanced Department Teacher: This position requires ballroom dance experience through at least Associate Bronze in American Style. This position is part-time to start but can increase to full time as your schedule fills. Responsibilities include: Teaching Bronze and above lessons with correct level appropriate technique, identifying and delivering benefits of dance for each student, encouraging active participation from students in groups, practice sessions and all appropriate events, renewing programs, following up with inactive or un-enrolled students, choreography for events, active participation on coaching lessons, desk duties as needed, general studio responsibilities (cleaning, phones, email, etc) Required Certification: Associate Bronze
Instructor: This is a combination position teaching new through advanced students and includes all responsibilities includes in specialist and teacher roles

Dance Executive Trainee
This is an entry level position starting as part-time 20-25 hours per week. This position will transition to full time over the course of your first year as your teaching schedule fills. You will be trained first as a new student specialist but also receive training for advanced level teaching and executive responsibilities with the intention of transitioning to a leadership role after 2 years with the company.
Administrative Assistant
This is a weekday evening position 12-20 hrs/wk. Responsibilities include scheduling lessons, taking payments, paperwork, answering calls/emails/texts, managing social media, light cleaning and general studio assistance.
New Student Counselor
This role is reserved for a specialist with an outstanding track record of original enrollments, extensions, group/ practice session participation and an overall warm personality that puts all students at ease. Leadership qualities, a growth mindset and the ability to inspire both staff and students are required for this role. This is the front department leader and is responsible for overseeing all students in the front department as well as all specialists while continuing to perform individual specialist tasks. Required Certification: Full Bronze
Supervisor
This role is reserved for an Instructor or Teacher with an outstanding track record of student longevity, group/practice session participation and an excellent rapport with all students. Leadership qualities, a growth mindset and the ability to inspire both staff and students are required for this role. This is the back department leader and is responsible for overseeing all students in the back department as well as all teachers while continuing to perform individual teaching tasks. Required Certification: Full Bronze
Dance Director
This role is reserved for a back department teacher with outstanding dance technique and teaching abilities. In addition to their own teaching duties, dance directors are responsible for the training and exam preparation for all staff. They are required to attend monthly certification meetings as available and keep up to date with all changes to syllabus. Learning specialty dances and continuing certifications should be a priority. Weekly training sessions must be planned and held for staff. This position does not directly supervise other staff members but should still hold leadership qualities and the ability to inspire others. Required Certification: Full Bronze (Associate Silver and/or Adv. Bronze preferred)
Manager
This position is reserved for individuals who have a proven track record as a teacher and executive and show an interest in becoming a franchisee in the future. This position serves as a junior franchisee and is expected to run all aspects of the studio with a franchisee mindset. Responsibilities include: having a united front with franchisees on all matters as they pertain to staff and students, increasing income, increasing lessons taught, knowing studio numbers, acting as and/or supervising all other positions in the studio, weekly meetings/training with staff, having a positive attitude and growth mindset, having the ability to inspire students and staff, running day to day operations of the studio, reporting all studio activity to franchisees. Required Certification: Full Bronze (Full Silver and/or Adv. Bronze preferred)
